A single policy covers you throughout the year – we take into account natural fluctuations in stock levels, plant and machinery, which are covered within specified limits, eliminating the problems associated with under insurance.

Policy holders have free access to telephone claims helplines 24 hours a day and premiums are payable by monthly direct debit. Our specialist livestock policy is designed for beef, dairy, pig, sheep and non- intensive poultry farming. It covers livestock from birth to sale and also includes:

• Breeding stock that is not for sale – cover can include infertility – plus working dogs
• Livestock in transit up to £5,000
• Deadstock (agricultural produce including growing crops not intended for sale and farm stock) automatically covered up £10,000
• Machinery plant, implements, tools, equipment, fixtures and fittings within specified limits
• Optional additional items of farm property creating flexibility for the diversifying farmer
• Business interruption insurance to cover any revenue e.g. caravan storage, farm shop, telephone masts, bed & breakfast, etc.
• Uncollected milk - compensation for up to 15 days’ stock
• Employers’ liability up to £10,000,000 – premium based on wage roll
• Public liability up to £5,000,000 – normally based on acreage of farm, but other activities, such as bed & breakfast may either take into account turnover or number of beds
• Money up to agreed limits
• Assault, personal accident and sickness up to specified limits
• Farm property in transit up to a standard limit of £3,000
• Supplementary all risks cover for items such as office equipment, portable tools and cattle passports up to agreed limits
• Commercial legal expenses up to £100,000 limit of indemnity – can be extended to include tenancy disputes
• Home insurance - buildings, contents and accidental cover for all homes listed
• Motor insurance to cover private cars, commercial vehicles, agricultural vehicles, trailers and attachments anywhere in the UK - up to £25,000 for any one item
• Terrorism insurance can be accomodated
• Please note the following standard contingencies apply:
  - Fire, lightning, explosion
  - Electrocution
  - Aircraft
  - Earthquake
  - Riot, civil commotion, malicious persons
  - Impact (including impact own vehicles)
  - Falling trees
  - Worrying of sheep
  - Fatal injury in transit - £ limit any one load (£500 excess applies)

Our Service

At Farmshield we work with you to agree the type and extent of the cover required for your livestock farm business. Once this has been agreed, we can offer the facility to spread the insurance payments over one to ten months.
